Campbell's Resort and Plug-In North Central Washington will unveil the lakeside resort's new electric car charging station at a public dedication on Thursday, November 14, 5:30 - 6 pm. The event will feature the arrival of several electric cars; a demonstration of charging procedures; and talks by Chelan Mayor Bob Goedde, Art Campbell, and leaders of Plug-In North Central Washington.
“We had been working on this project with Plug-In North Central Washington for several months now,” reports Art Campbell, general manager of the resort. “We’re excited to have the first EV charging station in the Lake Chelan valley.”
"Campbell's investment and participation in our charging station deployment project is a bright star in efforts to further position North Central Washington as a world-class visitor destination for electric vehicle drivers" says Ron Johnston-Rodriguez, President of Plug-In North Central Washington. "Their reputation is awesome and will help to attract more electric car owners to our increasingly EV-friendly region and encourage other local business owners to consider a charging station".
Plug-In's Jack Anderson explains that Campbell’s station offers more amps for charging than most other 240 volt stations in the state, with the capacity to add approximately 43 miles of range per hour of charge compared to only 18 miles for the typical lower amperage charging units.
The new charging unit is located next to Campbell’s Stehekin Ballroom in the resort’s main parking lot. The station is for guest and public use and is complimentary.
